Summer at Daymark: More Than a Camp, A Step Toward Independence
For many families of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, summer can bring a familiar question:
"What's next?"
After high school programs end, schedules change, and routines slow down, it can be difficult to find opportunities that are both meaningful and growth-focused.
That's exactly why Daymark Living created Summer Stays.
Located in Waxahachie, Texas, Daymark's Summer Stay program gives adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to experience life in a supportive residential community while building confidence, friendships, and real-world skills that prepare them for the future.
Summer Stay at Daymark Living is a one-month residential experience for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities ages 18+. Participants build independence, develop life skills, make friends, and experience community living in a supportive environment located in Waxahachie, Texas.

Culinary and cooking experiences
These practical life skills help build independence while allowing participants to gain confidence in a safe and encouraging environment.
Experience Residential Living Before Making a Long-Term Decision
For many families, Summer Stay serves as an opportunity to explore residential living without making an immediate long-term commitment.
Participants stay on Daymark's campus and experience what life is truly like within the community. They build routines, develop friendships, and learn how to navigate daily responsibilities with support and guidance from the Daymark team.
Parents often tell us that one of the greatest benefits is seeing their loved one gain confidence and independence while also finding a sense of belonging.
It's a chance to answer questions such as:
Is my loved one ready for a more independent lifestyle?
How do they respond to living with peers?
