An Educational Collaboration Designed for Real-World Independence

Daymark Living offers structured life-skills education in collaboration with UCLA Extension Pathway, integrated into a supportive residential environment.

UCLA Extension Pathway provides curriculum focused on executive functioning, time management, and organizational skills.

Daymark Living provides the structured daily routines, supervision, and applied learning environment.

UCLA Extension is the continuing education division of UCLA and one of the oldest and largest continuing higher education providers in the United States.

Daymark Living offers real-life learning and supportive community living in collaboration with UCLA Extension Pathway, supporting residents build independence, confidence, and everyday life skills.

How RISE Residency Works

Residents engage in structured coursework provided through UCLA Extension curriculum while applying those skills within Daymark’s residential model.

THIS INTEGRATION ALLOWS RESIDENTS TO:

  • Build executive functioning skills

  • Practice daily routines in real time

  • Develop organization and time management systems

  • Increase independence with consistent support

Time Management & Organizational Skills I

Program Details

Length: Two 10-week courses

Dates: March 30 – June 5, 2026

Cost: $500 per course

Location: Daymark Living, Waxahachie, TX

Registration Starts: Feb 9th, 2026

    • Clarify personal goals and motivations

    • Learn effective planning and scheduling tools

    • Analyze time use and reduce distractions

    • Practice stress management and accountability

    These courses help residents advocate for themselves, take responsibility for their actions, and prepare for life beyond Pathway.

  • This program may be appropriate for:

    • Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeking structured independence

    • Families exploring transitional residential options

    • Individuals building executive functioning skills

    • Residents preparing for long-term supported living

    • Acquire practical tools to employ in navigating college, the workplace, and independent living

    • Identify current time management and organizational habits, and learn to set and manage goals to improve performance in these areas

    • Explore and apply time management/organizational tools, self-advocacy skills, and motivational tips

    • Understand scheduling and prioritizing methods as well as proper study skills

Daymark Living offers short-term stays that allow residents and families to explore community life before committing long-term.

Options include:

FAQs

Are college extension courses offered at Daymark Living?

Yes. In collaboration with UCLA Extension Pathway Program, we are launching new RISE cohorts in March of 2026.

Do residents have to live at Daymark to participate?

UCLA Extension Pathway coursework is an option for all regardless of residency. We developed RISE Residency at Daymark Living to support further independence and community. RISE residency program, includes short-term and introductory stays, it is also open to existing residents at daymark. This Course can be taken through UCLA Extension regardless of residency status at Daymark. Daymark provides a collaborative environment to our residents participating in extension programs.

Is this program only for long-term residents?

No. Daymark Living offers semester stays, mini-terms, and workshops to allow families to explore options before long-term commitment.
