Finding Independence and Community: Kate’s Journey at Daymark Living
When families look for supportive living, they’re often searching for more than a place to live — they’re looking for independence, belonging, and a true sense of community.
For Mike and Amanda, Daymark Living has provided all of that and more for their daughter, Kate.

Kate moved to Daymark Living over six years ago and was one of the community’s very first residents. After attending college, Kate knew she wanted more independence and a stronger social life — a place where she could continue growing while being supported.
Mike first learned about Daymark Living through John Poston, Daymark’s founder, and Kate’s initial introduction to the community came through a summer camp experience. That early connection made the transition to becoming a full-time resident feel natural, comfortable, and empowering.
Over the years, Mike and Amanda have watched Kate grow in ways that truly matter. One of the biggest changes they’ve seen is her maturity and ability to handle conflict, along with the confidence that comes from living independently and making her own choices.
Kate loves visiting her parents — but she’s always happy to return home to Daymark. That simple truth speaks volumes. Daymark isn’t just where she lives — it’s her community, her support system, and her home.
If your loved one could live independently while still being supported, what would that change for your family?

Amanda also shares heartfelt gratitude for Molly, whose presence she describes as “an angel.” Molly’s compassion, leadership, and genuine care are a steady light for both residents and families.
“There’s just no way to put a value on what Daymark has given Kate,” Amanda says. “This is her community — and that means everything.”
